Rules

The standards that keep our city running.

These expectations help us maintain a fair, immersive, and respectful environment for every member of Canadian Coastal Roleplay.

Community Rules

Expectations for behaviour, communication, and respect within our community.

  • 1) Respect - Remain respect towards everyone at all times. There is a zero tolerance policy for treating others poorly.
  • 2) Language - While we are a mature server which allows swearing, we ask you to use it constructively and not in a disrespectful way. Slurs and any form of hate speech is not tolerated at all.
  • 3) Privacy - Respect everyone's right to privacy. Do not share information about others or about yourself. This is a public place.
  • 4) Shared Content - Ensure all content within the server is appropriate for younger people and relevant to the server. NSFW content is not allowed.
  • 5) Self Promotion - Do not self promote within any part of the server.
  • 6) Spamming & Communication - Use channels for their intended purpose. Spamming, mass mentioning or other non constructive or rule breaking forms of communication are not acceptable.
  • 7) Accounts - All accounts interacting with Canadian Coastal Roleplay servers should be appropriate. Using alternate accounts to avoid punishments is not tolerated.

Game Rules

In-character conduct, roleplay standards, and departmental expectations.

  • 1) Characters - Characters should be realistic and unique with realistic names and a backstory. You should also work to play a character not yourself when creating a scene. Characters should also have a limited life span. If you have been killed several times by law enforcement or have multiple criminal convictions then you should bring that character to an end and start a new one.
  • 2) Remain in Character - While in game you should always be staying in character. We acknowledge that it is a game but we ask that you do not break character at all. If something strange happens, act surprised as you would in real life.
  • 3) Realism - Everything should be treated as if it were real life. This should also include the frequency of events. Do not use information your character wouldn't know.
  • 4) Scenes - Scenes should be kept realistic and effort should be put into them. Pointless priority scenes, cop baiting or forcing others to engage in poor roleplay and other roleplay not fitting for your character is not tolerated.
  • 5) Peacetime - In order to maintain passive roleplay standards a peacetime timer is placed on your screen. While it is active no violent roleplay with anyone should be taking place. Take this time to engage in passive roleplay.
  • 6) Staff Scenes - The only time a staff scene is active and you may break character is when there is a vehicle with green lights engaged in your scene. During this time you may break character to comply with a staff member's investigation.
  • 7) Exploits - Do not use any bugs, glitches or 3rd party exploits to gain an advantage over others or ruin the experience.
  • 8) Injuries - Roleplay injuries out realistically, if you have been incapacitated await EMS or another person to provide medical aid.
  • 9) Interference - Do not interfere with other scenes or other people. You should not be forcing yourself on others and making them engage with you.
  • 10) Violence - While violent roleplay is allowed, we ask you to keep it realistic. Engaging in pointless shootings or other forms of violence (RDM & VDM) will not be tolerated.
  • 11) Microphone - You are required to have a high quality microphone to play on this server. Bad audio quality lowers the quality of the experience for everyone
  • 12) CAD - you must be signed into cad and appropriately set up and registered.
  • 13) Outfits - Civilian outfits should be realistic and human-like. Government departments should be professional and not contain any unrealistic components to a government job. Civilians should not wear visible body armour or open carry. Both are considered illegal.
  • 14) Erotic Roleplay (ERP) - Any form of sexual roleplay is prohibited. This included acting out sexual acts, overtly sexual statements and any other roleplay that would be beyond a PG-13 level. Civilians may act as strippers but not perform overly sexual acts.
  • 15) Stealing Vehicles - Emergency service vehicles cannot be stolen & you may not impersonate, act as or otherwise pretend to be law enforcement, fire or ems. Specific roleplays may be approved by staff or high command.
  • 15) Bomb Roleplay - Must be preapproved by in-game staff and have a logical reason for the use of a bomb. The average person does not have a bomb.
  • 17) Winner Menality - Scenes designed to always make the instigator win or die will be moderated. Scenes should be created to act, improvise and have fun not to always win. If you are repeatedly seen killing yourself to avoid jail or capture or killing cops with no logical reason action will be taken.
  • 18) Hits & Targeted Assassinations - Any hits or violent retaliatory actions need to have substantial roleplay reasoning behind them. Placing a hit because you were arrested, injured etc is not a valid reason. These must be significant storylines with articulable reasoning why you would try to hunt and kill another human being after the event is long over.
  • 19) Banned Roleplay - The following roleplay is not allowed under any scenario: school shootings, human trafficking, underage roleplay, mental illness including suicide roleplay
  • 20) Restricted Features - Abuse of features and special permissions is prohibited. This includes use of LEO/Fire vehicles, weapons and any other special permissions while not active as that department or organization.
  • 21) Restricted Characters - All characters should have unique, original names. You may not roleplay as celebrities, politicians or famous historical figures. You may have a similar character but it cannot be an imitation of a real person.
